Mount Mitchell Golf Club
Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, an hour from Asheville at the base of Mount Mitchell, Mount Mitchell Golf Club is a 4.5-star rated Golf Digest “Places to Play” course. Golfweek Magazine ranked it #11 in 2016 – NC “Best in State”.
Course
Our course is a player-friendly par 72, with no blind shots and scenery that makes it hard to keep your mind on golf. It features bent grass tees, greens and fairways. It is in the Toe River valley and is virtually flat.

The club house offers fine dining and relaxation in Hawtree’s Pub. The Pro Shop is well stocked with stylish golf attire.
Dining
After a fun-filled day on the course what better way to celebrate than enjoying a nice snack, meal or drink! Hawktree's Grill and Pub will provide dinner services in its spacious dining facilities, plus outdoor dining available with entertainment.
Lodging
Coming in from out of town? Why not stay awhile at one of our luxurious on-site rental properties? Two and three bedroom town homes are available on the 18th fairway. Private homes are available throughout the golf community – from two to five bedrooms. We offer One, Two, and Three bedroom fairway villas directly on the course.
Shopping
Shoppers will be delighted by the unique local shops in downtown Burnsville. Local craftsmen produce some of the finest glassware, woven goods, wood products and pottery in the country. Burnsville is the perfect destination for a day-trip.
Climate
From April to November, morning temperatures range between 55 and 60 degrees. Daytime hovers around 80. This mild climate produces blooming wild flowers in March. It has been said that this is where springtime spends the summer.
Region
Hiking to waterfalls, cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway, gemstone mining and abundant craft studios and shops are all close to the golf course in and around Burnsville. Mt. Mitchell State Park and Historic Altapass Orchard are just a 20 minute drive away.
Fishing
In addition to golf, the fisherman will be delighted by the South Toe River that runs through the course. It is brimming with trophy native brown and rainbow trout. Fishing guide services and permits are available for guests to purchase.
