For 57 years and counting, Irene Wortham Center has helped children and adults with developmental and/or socioeconomic challenges lead healthy, happy and more independent lives.
From our CARF-accredited Adult Day Activity and Supported Employment programs, to our 5-star-rated child care center, to our comprehensive, around-the-clock residential care homes, Irene Wortham Center and its exceptional staff inspire and empower individuals to reach their full potential from birth to end of life.

Our Programs
The Irene Wortham Center operates multiple programs in Western North Carolina to serve the members of our community.
Our final program is the Early Learning Center, where children ages six weeks to pre-k, with and without developmental challenges, learn, play and grow together in an integrated setting. The center currently enrolls 100 children, but has a waitlist of more than 400. The services we provide are an evident community need, so we plan to expand and build a new Early Learning Center in the next 5 years! This tournament is our kick-start fundraising event. All funds raised will go toward pre-building efforts such as meeting with architects, building renderings, permits, and launching a strong capital campaign.
